These handsewn shareholding lunch sacks were created the represent the things we may think are small but when shared with holy abandon can multiply.
Often revealing itself during dreams, in the midst of crisis, and moments of clarity in daily life, longing is often found by noticing what is missing: a person at the table, the memory from a garment long since worn out, an orphaned child. Often the pain of loss, and the desire for things to somehow be made right or recovered is so strong that it compels us to dream and connect, contemplate and share.
Share Table was commissioned by Upper House for Unveiled | Prayers of the People. This installation extends an invitation to take a seat at the table and share memories and prayers through written reflections that are gathered in the handsewn wax lunch sacks.
