Interphase (While We Slept), photography series
This installation is inspired by the research of oncologist/cell biologist Dr. Mark Burkard, and his groundbreaking discovery of a new form of cellular division in human cells, cytofission (klerokinesis), which preserves genomic normalcy in the midst of abnormal, cancerous genomic conditions. Cytofission can take over 100+ hours to complete.
